CCI was retained by the City of Memphis to perform initial site surveys and Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) for the implementation of small cell communications throughout the City. High density placement is the key for small cells because in addition to traditional low-band spectrum, they can transmit data using mid- and high-band spectrum’s and those airwaves cannot travel far. They are low-power cell sites that are closely spaced a few hundred feet apart.

When the project is completed, there will be thousands of small cell antennas providing 4G/5G coverage throughout the City of Memphis.
