Courtyard By Marriott at Pigeon Forge
Pigeon Forge is one of the major gateways to America’s #1 most visited parks – the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. People value the natural beauty of this area – which is one of the things that needed to be incorporated into the design of this development.
The Courtyard by Marriott Hotel is situated on 5 acres alongside the Little Pigeon River, which is one of the more picturesque and environmentally sensitive areas in the community of Pigeon Forge. Given this setting, the client and the community both wanted to make sure this was addressed.
CCI was responsible for the overall site design effort to assure both water and wastewater services were provided to the project in addition to water quality and quantity for the site after each rain event. CCI addressed these challenges without sacrificing the existing environment – it was actually enhanced. Underneath all the parking areas, sidewalk, walking trails and landscape lies an intricate and highly innovative system of stormwater storage chambers and pipes designed to meet the environmental needs. CCI also completed a “No Rise” analysis for floodway encroachments associated with the hotel.
The hotel is situated in the Sevier County Tourist Corridor, a project CCI is provided engineering design services to improve the traffic flow for several major corridors traversing the limits of both cities.
