I-40 Choice Lanes Utility Coordination

Cannon & Cannon, Inc. (CCI) is supporting STV Incorporated on TDOT’s Knoxville I-40 Corridor Priority Investment Project by providing utility coordination and GIS services for the preliminary design and environmental (PD&E) study phase. CCI’s efforts focus on compiling accurate utility data to inform design decisions across a multi-county study area.

Project Scope:

• Contacted and coordinated with more than 20 utility providers

• Requested, reviewed, and validated existing GIS utility data

• Developed a unified utility geodatabase and mapping exhibits

• Participated in recurring utility coordination and progress meetings with the design team

• Supported preliminary conflict identification and planning

• Positioned to assist with future phases, including utility relocation design, environmental permitting, and cost estimating

These services provide the foundational data and coordination necessary to support early-stage design efforts and reduce utility conflicts during future implementation.
