Loudon Environmental Study
CCI Environmental Services Division staff performed Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) of the 12-acre Hutch Manufacturing Company property and managed an asbestos survey of three (3) of the dilapidated industrial buildings on the property located within the town center of Loudon, Tennessee. The ESAs and asbestos survey were requested as part of the City’s environmental due diligence process as it considered the purchase of the blighted property and planned redevelopment of the City’s waterfront.
The ESAs included evaluation of historical documentation and government environmental records, a reconnaissance inspection of the property, interviews with people knowledgeable about the historical uses of the property, collection of soil and groundwater samples, and development of reports documenting the assessment findings. Findings and recommendations of the environmental professionals were presented to City Council.
